Going to the ocean can be so refreshing.  There is something about the sound of the ocean rolling onto the sand, the fresh smell of the ocean breeze, the warmth of the sun, and the feel of the sand.  I am always refreshed when I have spent time playing near the ocean.  Ahhhh.  The water can be healing in so many ways.  I think that is why so many of us flock to the ocean when we need a break.  

These custom necklaces were created for a daughter and her mother.  They were created as a surprise for the mother to have as a memento of their trip and what they have both been through recently.  When life gets hard, mothers are frequently there to help us along our way, give us words of encouragement, and refresh us.  Thank God for mothers I tell you.  

These necklaces were designed to be light and yet reminiscent of the ocean.  They both have a little starfish on one side of the center bead.  These measure 20 inches but can be extended to 24 inches.  The ribbon is hand dyed silk and is a beautiful shade of light blue.  I wish I could have taken a picture of one of these on someone so you could see these in their full beauty.  The blue in the lampwork bead is not as bright and the colors all mix together so well to create a wonderful, fresh necklace.
